AVI • Audio Video Interleave (AVI), is a container format introduced by Microsoft in November 1992 as part of its Video for Windows technology. • AVI files can allow synchronous audio-with-video playback. • It does not support features of recent container formats like embedded meta- data. • It does not even officially support most of the modern video and audio codecs in use today. • .avi extension
