A high sampling rate produces better quality sound, but it also produces a large file. For this reason, you will need to strike a balance between the sample rate and the file size of your recording. Bit Depth Bit depth describes the number of bits of information recorded for each sample. Bit depth directly corresponds to the resolution of each sample in a set of digital audio data. Higher bit depth provides greater dynamic range. 7.3 Audio Editing When you have recorded your source audio, you will use audio editing software to adjust and fine tune the audio before you format and export individual audio files. There are several key audio editing software applications, including Audacity, Audition, Logic Pro, Soundbooth, and Soundtrack. The processes and techniques involved in audio editing is beyond the scope of this guideline.
