Type of Equipment Planned to Purchase in Future
Respondents showed some variations in the type of equipment they planned to purchase in the future.
After two prior surveys that show electronic diagnostic equipment playing an indispensable role in shops,
owners now say they plan to purchase lifting equipment. Over one in five (20.6 percent) shop owners planned
to purchase “lifting equipment” as their first choice. Fewer than 20 percent of all respondents planned to
purchase “AC cooling and fluid handling equipment” (12.3 percent), and “welding and exhaust equipment”
(9.1 percent).
