Reasons for Internet Equipment Shopping
The idea of seeking a competitive equipment price was stressed by respondents in this a
nd previous
surveys . More than half of all respondents (55 . 3 percent) reported this y
ear that they shopped online for
better prices . But roughly a third of the respondents (31 . 9 percent) who shopped online said the items
were unavailable from their current suppliers . The reasons respondents shopped online differed markedly
by their employment roles . Nearly two-thirds (60 percent) of respondents who shopped online and not
from their current sources were service managers, compared to technicians (27 . 3 percent) .
